Protection of medical records - licensee's obligations - verification of compliance - noncompliance grounds for discipline - rules
Requires licensed physicians and physician assistants to create security plans for patient medical records. Specifies the topics that these plans must address (e.g., medical record storage and disposal, patient access to medical records following the provider’s ending of their practice, etc.). Requires physicians and physician assistants to notify patients about how they may obtain their records upon termination of the provider’s practice. Classifies noncompliance with these requirements as grounds for disciplinary actions.
