Opioid antagonist dispensing by pharmacist -- standing order.
Authorizes pharmacists that receive proper training to dispense opioid antagonists in compliance with a standing order from the Pharmacy Board. Permits pharmacists dispense the drugs after completing an assessment of the patient’s eligibility for opioid antagonists. Specifies the information that pharmacists must provide when dispensing opioid antagonists (e.g., the need to call 911 immediately, how to store the drug, etc.). Requires pharmacists to report to the assessments to the Department of Public Health within seven days. Requires pharmacists to maintain records of this activity for at least two years following the record date. Authorizes the Pharmacy Board to inspect and copy these records.
