Requires hospitals to provide radiology services and establishes standards for requesting radiology services, radiation control and safety, and radiology personnel. Requires radiology requests to be in writing, state the reason for the request, and be signed by the requesting provider. Requires these requests and reports of examinations to be filed in the patient’s medical record. Requires hospitals to establish written policies and procedures for radiology services that address items such as mechanical and electrical safety, infection control, and minimizing radiation exposure.
