Requires home health agencies to maintain clinical records. Specifies the contents of these records (e.g., identifying information, plan of care, clinical notes, etc.). Requires home health agencies to retain records for at least five years following a patient’s discharge or—for minor patients— three years following their 18th birthday. Requires home health agencies to safeguard the records against unauthorized access and damage and to dispose of them in a manner that prevents retrieval of the information.
