“Reports of disciplinary actions by medical organizations under the regulation of professions and occupations law”
The Department of Health must be notified when any professional medical association and health care facility disciplines an osteopathic physician within 30 days of its initial occurrence. Within 20 days of receiving notice, the department must notify all hospitals and health maintenance organizations in the state of any disciplinary action which is severe enough for expulsion or resignation. Any organization that fails to report disciplinary actions may be fined $1,000 by the department.
