“Hospital reporting of exposure to selected infectious diseases under the Agency for Health Care Administration regulations”
A hospital must establish a written policy and procedure for notifying EMTs or paramedics known to have been exposed to a patient with an infectious disease while transporting or treating an ill or injured patient to the hospital. The confidentiality of patient information must be maintained. The name of the patient must not be disclosed.
