Assessment
Requires behavioral health care services providers to conduct a best practices assessment within seven business days of a patient’s admission for services. Requires such assessment to take place within 24 hours if admission is to the acute treatment unit or 72 hours for the withdrawal management unit. Requires providers to review and update the assessment at least once every six months. Specifies the information that must providers must document in patient medical records. Such information includes health status, identifying information, advance directives, and cultural factors that could affect treatment (e.g., communication needs, ethnicity, spiritual beliefs, sexual orientation, etc.).
