The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) released its final report from the Behavioral Health Data Exchange Consortium pilot project. The purpose of the project was to overcome technical and legal barriers to to the exchange of behavioral health data between health care providers, among organizations, and across state lines.
On June 18, 2014, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released its Annual Report to Congress detailing breaches of unsecured protected health information (PHI) occuring in 2011 and 2012, a report required by the Health Information Technology and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act.
