Connecticut authorizes the creation of registries for childhood immunization data,1 data on infants that have been exposed to HIV or AIDs medication, 2 and diagnosed tumors. 3
The Department of Public Health must conduct surveillance and monitoring of birth defects4 and asthma5 and must establish a system for detecting and tracking cervical and breast cancer.
Connecticut requires providers and institutions to report the following:
· Infections and injuries that occur while working with biolevel-three agents.6
· Physical defects in children.7
· Blood lead levels.8
· Specified diseases. 9
· Bullet and gunshot wounds.10
· Healthcare associated infections.11
· Burns and firework injuries. 12
