Research in Michigan
Michigan law requires the State Department of Public Health to have a policy on research and evaluation using statistics. The law also requires the Department to create a non-profit organization to undertake the research and evaluation of the occurrence of disabilities in a particular group of people, the impact of personal illness on the economy, environmental and social factors, the determinants of health and nutritional practices, access and use of the health care system, and other public health policies and programs.1
