Minor voluntarily admitted may give notice to leave at any time
Minors may, at any time, give notice of their intent to leave a mental health facility if they at least 13 years old and voluntarily entered the facility. The facility must date the notice, document its existence in the minor’s record, and provide copies to the minor’s parents, attorney, and, if applicable, a designated mental health professional.
