Maintenance of Patient Records by Podiatrists
Any podiatric physician and surgeon who treats patients must maintain complete and legible treatment records regarding patients treated. These should include (but are not limited to) X rays, treatment plans, patient charts, patient histories, correspondence, financial data and billing. The records should be kept in an orderly, accessible file and should be readily available for inspection by the podiatric medical board. These records should be kept for a minimum of 7 years.
