“Health insurance coverage, mental health and substance abuse under the banking and insurance law”
A health insurer must cover all necessary and appropriate mental health services without imposing practices that create barriers to receiving mental health care. Health insurers must file with the commissioner of financial regulation a report card on the health insurer’s performance regarding quality measures for the care of mental health and substance abuse conditions.
