“Disclosure and public information under the banking and insurance law”
The commissioner of financial regulation is authorized to promulgate rules for the full, fair and uniform disclosure of information to insurance consumers. The rules may require insurers to prepare a disclosure statement containing:
- An outline summarizing important features of a policy:
- Information on cost and benefits to a policyholder;
- Any other information the commissioner deems necessary; and
- A statement that the outline is a summary of the policy and that the policy should be consulted to determine governing contractual provisions.
