“Consumer charge and quality information for uninsured consumers under the Department of Financial Regulation regulations”
Each hospital and health care provider practice must establish an uninsured consumer information plan that is approved by the commissioner of financial regulation.
A hospital uninsured consumer information plan must provide the following information:
- Hospital quality information
- Hospital charge information
- A mechanism for a consumer to learn the estimated charge for a specific in-patient, out-patient or diagnostic procedure or service offered by the hospital
A health care provider practice uninsured consumer information plan must provide the following information:
- Health care provider quality information
- Health care provider charge information
- A mechanism for any uninsured patient of a health care provider practice to learn the estimated charge for a specific health care procedure or service offered by the health care provider practice
