“Retention under the department of financial regulation regulations”
Health insurers must maintained records for the following periods:
- Policy records must be maintained for five years from the expiration date of the policy;
- Declined applications must be maintained for at least one year;
- Claims records must be kept for two years;
- Rate and form filing records must be kept for two years;
- Financial records must be kept until they have been subject to an examination by the Department of Financial Regulation; and
- All other records must be maintained for five years.
