Establishes a procedure for transferring prescriptions between pharmacies. Permits transfers for refill prescriptions to be made electronically or by fax. Requires the transferring pharmacist to write void on the original prescription order and document on the back of the order their name, the pharmacy and pharmacist that received the prescription, the phone number of the receiving pharmacy, and the date of the transfer. Requires the receiving pharmacy to create a prescription record, write “transfer” on the received description order, and make sure the prescription order contains all the information required by law (e.g., patient name, date of original prescription, number of refills remaining, etc.). Prohibits transfers of Schedule II controlled substances. Permits the transfer of a Schedule III-V controlled substance one time.
