Recordkeeping Requirements
Requires telepharmacies to scan written prescriptions and retain the scan for at least two years from the date of creation. Requires telepharmacies to send written prescriptions to the parent pharmacy for filing within 72 hours of their receipt. Requires parent pharmacies to maintain telepharmacy records in separate files. Requires the telepharmacy to maintain controlled substances records unless state or federal law permits central storage of such records. Requires telepharmacies to adopt standards regarding patient confidentiality, recordkeeping, safety, security, and accuracy.
