“Sexual misconduct; duty to inform under the occupations and professions law”
A mental health practitioner has a duty to report unethical, unprofessional, and dishonorable conduct. If, during the course of mental health therapy, a client alleges that a previous licensed mental health professional engaged with the client in sexual misconduct, the current mental health professional has a duty to inform the client that he or she has a duty to report the allegation.
