Reporting Patient Abstract Data by Hospitals and Ambulatory Surgical Centers - Mo. Code Regs. Ann. tit. 19, § 10-33.010
This will open in a new window
All hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers must report to the Department of Health and Senior Services patient abstract data on discharged patients. Providers may submit data directly to the Department or through a third party. Based on the data, the Department may publish publicly available reports relating to hospital and ambulatory surgery centers’ quality of care. The Department may also release this information to a public health authority, which may not re-release the data. However, the public health authority may contact the patient or provider.
The Department may also authorize epidemiological research based on patient abstract data. However, patient identifying information may not be released by the researcher.
