Rhode Island requires licensed nursing facilities to create a quality improvement program, quality improvement committee, and a quality improvement plan. Licensed nursing facilities must review the plan on an annual basis. The plan must address items such as medication monitoring, accidents, and injuries and specify methods for identifying and correcting problems.
The quality improvement committee’s records and reports may only be accessed by the director for compliance purposes.
