Hospital information reporting disclosure
The Minnesota Hospital Association must develop a web-based system available to the public for reporting the following:
- Hospital specific performance measures for acute myocardial infarction, heart failure and pneumonia;
- Hospital specific publicly reporting measures for hospital acquired infections published by the National Quality Forum and the Minnesota Hospital Association;
- Charge information, including number of discharges, average length of stay, average charge, average charge per day, and median charge for the 50 most common inpatient diagnosis related groups and the 25 most common outpatient surgical procedures as determined by the Minnesota Hospital Association.
The website must provide information that compares hospital-specific information to statewide hospital information. The website must be updated annually. A link to the website along with enforcement information must be available on the Insurance Department’s website. If a hospital does not provide the required information to the Minnesota Hospital Association, the Commissioner of Insurance may require a hospital to do so under other hospital licensing provisions.
