Duty to Report
The Commissioner must establish a reporting system that designates either a physician, medical facility or hospital to report cases of traumatic brain and/or spinal cord injury. The patient’s consent is not required for reporting. The information that is required to be reported is the name, age and residence of the patient, date and cause of the injury, the initial diagnosis, and any other information required.
