Sexually Transmitted Disease; Special Report
Physicians must report to the Commissioner of Health the name, address and other relevant information of a patient who has chlamydial infection, syphilis, gonorrhea, or chancroid and has not finished treatment. Physicians must ensure that contacts of patients being treated for chlamydial infection, syphilis, gonorrhea, or chancroid are also being treated or provide the contacts’ names and addresses to the Commissioner of Health. Individuals who are contacts of patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, including acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) must be reported to the Commissioner.
