Requires home health agencies to establish a written care of plan for each patient and specifies the content of this plan (e.g., diagnoses, needed services, frequency of services, discharge planning, etc.). Requires a doctor to approve both the initial plan of care and any modifications to the plan. Permits agency staff to administer drugs and treatments only upon the order of a physician. Requires nurses or therapists to record and sign oral medication orders and then obtain the physician’s countersignature.
