Requires skilled nursing facilities and intermediate care facilities to designate a licensed registered nurse as their Director of Nursing Services. Defines the director’s responsibilities as including assisting in the development of patient/resident care policies, creation of patient care plans, and screening prospective patients/residents. Establishes minimum staffing requirements. Requires a plan of care to be developed upon a patient/resident’s admission. Requires licensed nursing staff to provide medications to patients/residents pursuant to written standards. Requires patients/residents to receive a T.B. skin test upon admission.
