Health inofrmation technology office --Duties
Creates the Health Information Technology Office with the Information Technology Department. Tasks the Office with promoting health information technology and facilitating the implementation of an interoperable health information infrastructure. Requires the Office Director and the Health Information Technology Advisory Committee to collaborate in applying for federal funding to implement HIT and implement a health information exchange. Requires the Office to adopt privacy and security rules for access and use of information from the health information exchange. Grants the Office authority to establish the HIE in collaboration with other states if doing so will facilitate the cost-effective exchange of health information.
