Authorized participants
Permits providers and health carriers (“participants”) to access the North Dakota Health Information Network if they have a legitimate need for Network information (e.g., to provide treatment, to obtain payment, etc.). Requires participants to execute an agreement with the Network that will govern their access to and use of Network information. Requires participants to identify the individuals that will be accessing information (“authorized users”) and to notify the Network within 24 hours of one these authorized users losing their access. Requires participants to notify the Network upon discovering a breach.
