When referring patients to a health care facility or residential care facility in which a health care facility has a financial interest, the health care facility must disclose their interest to the patient, give them the option to obtain service from a different facility, and provide them with a list of alternative facilities.
The director may discipline health care facilities that fail to properly disclose their financial interests.
