The Rhode Island superior court has jurisdiction to prevent and restrain medical assistance fraud, grant injunctive relief to those harmed by medical assistance fraud, and issue restraining orders. The attorney general and any person harmed by medical assistance fraud may seek injunctive relief from the superior court. Persons held liable for medical assistance fraud in a suit initiated by the attorney general may be fined a maximum of $1,000 per violation.
