“Utilization control under the Agency of Human Services regulations”
The Department for Children and Families must establish a statewide utilization control program to safeguard against unnecessary or inappropriate utilization of services available under Medicaid. Excessive or inappropriate use of services is characterized as recipient abuse, provider abuse, or a combination of the two. Reports of abuse must be referred to the Medicaid Division.
