Examination and Copying of Record
Requires hospitals, within 10 days of receiving a patient’s request to examine or copy their information, to honor the request, notify the patient that they do not have the requested information, notify the patient that another provider has the information, inform the patient that there will be a delay in providing the information, or deny the request in accordance with § 35-2-612. Limits delays to 21 days following the patient’s request. Permits hospitals to impose a reasonable fee for providing the information.
