The Arizona program has been called the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (or AHCCCS) since its inception. It is administered by the state agency of the same name http://www.azahcccs.gov/ . As of June 1, 2018, there were 1,683,700 individuals enrolled in the AHCCCS.1
