Quality Measurement and Reporting

Connecticut has implemented the following quality measurement and reporting requirements:

· The Department of Public Health must collect and analyze data in order to assess the relationship between quality of care and nurse staffing patterns.1

· The Commissioner of Social Services must create “a child health quality improvement program” as a means of encouraging HUSKY Plan, Part A and Part B providers to use evidence-based strategies to improve the quality of and access to children’s health care.2

· Licensed hospitals must establish “performance improvement plans” that are accessible by the Department of Public Health.3

· Managed Care Organizations must annually submit a quality assurance plan report to the Insurance Commissioner.4

· Pharmacies must establish quality assurance programs.5
