Federal and State Program Integrity in New Hampshire

An individual is prohibited from fraudulently receiving a payment or benefits from the Medicaid program.1The Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human Services must investigate any incidents of Medicaid fraud.2 A health care provider’s licensed may be suspended or terminated if he or she is guilty of Medicaid fraud.3 Any person who fraudulently receives Medicaid funds may be penalized between $5,000 and $10,000 plus 3 times the amount of damages that the state sustained.4
