Penalty
Individuals that fail to comply with Washington’s vital statistics laws are guilty of a misdemeanor and will fined a minimum of 25 dollars upon their second violation. Additional violations will result in fines between 50 and 250 dollars, imprisonment for a maximum of 90 days, or both.
Individuals that “willfully” provide or place false information in a certificate are guilty of a “gross misdemeanor.”
