Means of Notification for Notifiable Diseases
Conditions that are designated as immediately notifiable must be reported by telephone or by secure facsimile copy of the case report to the correct local health officer or department. Conditions that are to be notified within three days or notified monthly must be reported by written case report or secure facsimile copy to the designated local health officer or department. Local and state health officer may authorize notifications by telephone or secure electronic transmission for cases and suspected cases of notifiable conditions.
