Walk-In Crisis Services
Defines walk-in crisis services facilities as those that provide in-person, confidential support for people experiencing a crisis. Requires these facilities to screen individuals upon their arrival, conduct an assessment, and then make a referral based upon the results of the screening and assessment. Requires facilities to have the ability to refer individuals for crisis stabilization services at a crisis stabilization unit. Defines the services that crisis stabilization units must provide as including a psychiatric evaluation, medical treatment, coordination with other medical services, and discharge planning.
