“Interference and retaliation under the human services law”
A person who intentionally hinders the Office of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman may be imprisoned for up to one year, fined up to $5000, or both. A person who take disciplinary or retaliatory action against an employee, resident or volunteer of a long-term care facility or agency to aid the office must be imprisoned for up to one year, fined up to $5000, or both. An employee, resident or volunteer of a long-term care facility or agency may seek damages in court against a person who takes such action.
