“Penalties; abuse; neglect; exploitation; mandatory reporter’s failure to report under the human services law”
A person who committed sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, exploitation, abuse, or neglect may be penalized up to $10,000 for each violation. The commissioner of disabilities, aging, and independent living must notify the office of professional regulation or any other professional licensing board applicable to the violator of any decision made. A health care professional or facility that failed to make a report of abuse, neglect, or exploitation may be penalized up to $500 per violation. Every 24 hours that of a report not made beyond the required reporting period constitutes a new and separate violation.
