“Intentional unsafe actions under the health law”
A hospital must notify the Department of Health if an intentional unsafe act against patients has occurred. If the department confirms that an intentional unsafe act occurred, it must notify relevant state and federal licensing and other regulatory entities and relevant state and federal law enforcement authorities. An individual or hospital is not civilly liable for complying with this statute. This statute does not prevent a hospital from conducting its own investigation or peer review.
