Vision Screening
Requires children to receive vision screening at least once before enrolling in kindergarten and again before beginning third grade. Specifies the persons or organizations that may provide such screening (e.g., a pediatrician, public health department, optometrist, etc.). Requires persons that perform vision screening to report the results to the Department of Public Health. Permits the Department to share information with health care providers as necessary to provide follow-up care and administer the vision screening program. Requires the Department to maintain the confidentiality of vision screening information and to adopt rules to administer this program.
