“Statewide emergency medical services and trauma system; definitions”
The department of health services (“department”) must create a statewide emergency medical services and trauma system in order to implement the Arizona emergency medical services and trauma system plan. The department must implement rules that address access to emergency medical services, injury prevention activities, a statewide trauma center network, quality assessment, confidentiality of patient information, and the process for designating institutions as trauma centers. The rules for designating a trauma center may include a requirement that trauma centers report data to the trauma registry.
