“Reporting of test results under the public health law”
If a person tests positive for HIV and is a minor or mentally incapable of understanding the ramifications of a positive test result, the physician may disclose the test results to a parent or legal guardian. If a person tests positive for HIV and is confined to the facility pursuant to a court order or committed to a mental health facility, the test results must be disclosed to the physician of the facility.
