Residents' rights -- Implementation
Specifies the rights of health care facility residents. These 20 rights include the right to receive information regarding their medical condition and proposed treatments, the right to have their medical records and personal records be confidential, and the right to receive care free from chemical or physical restraint. Provides an exception for this latter right when restraint is necessary to avoid injury to the patient or another individual. Requires the facility to document use of the restraint. Prohibits facilities from requiring a resident to waive the specified rights as a condition of entry into the facility.
