Requirements for Reporting Abuse or Neglect of Residents of Hospitals, Home Health Agencies, and Long Term Care Facilities - Mo. Rev. Stat. §198.070

Any health care provider (in a hospital, home health agency, long term care facility, etc) who has cause to believe that a resident has been abused or neglected must report this to the Department of Health and Senior Services. The report must contain the name and address of the facility, name of the resident, information regarding the incident, name of the complainant, and any other relevant information. The report must remain confidential. Any person who knowingly fails to report this information is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. Any administrator who conceals information related to an incident of abuse or neglect is guilty of a Class D felony. Upon receipt of the report, the Department must conduct an investigation within 24 hours, and may turn the case over to the Attorney General.
