Reporting of physical or mental disorders
Requires the Department of Health to define disorders that necessitate reporting to the department of transportation because they involve lapses of consciousness or gross physical or mental impairments. Authorizes physicians to report individuals over the age of 14 to the department of transportation if they believe that the individual is incapable of safely operating a motor vehicle and the report is necessary to eliminate a public safety threat. The director of the Department of Transportation must use these reports to assess an individual’s eligibility to operate motor vehicles on state roads. Classifies this information as confidential. Immunizes physicians from liability related to these reports if they fail to report or make a good faith report.
