Individual or group accident and health insurer or nonprofit health service corporation responsiblity -- release of information to the Department of Human Services.
Requires health insurance carriers to release information to Department of Human Services regarding covered persons that are also Medicaid recipients or applicants upon the Department’s request. Limits the information that carriers may disclose to that necessary to assess whether the carrier should have paid for services that are otherwise covered by Medicaid. Requires the Department and Insurance Commissioner to establish guidelines for requesting, submitting, and ensuring the limited use of such information.
