Ambulatory surgical facilities must provide pharmaceutical services; drug transactions of such services must be recorded, and those records must be correlated with other ambulatory surgical facility records. Drugs ordered and administered to patients must be documented in the patient’s medical record. Adverse drug reactions and sensitivities must be recorded in the patient’s medical record, and copies must be maintained for review by the quality assurance committee.
