Name of Medicaid Program(s) and number of people participating

The Pennsylvania program is known as Pennsylvania Medicaid, the Pennsylvania Medical Assistance program or HealthChoices.  It is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, and their website can be accessed here.  As of June 1, 2018, there were 2,970,051 individuals enrolled in the Pennsylvania Medicaid program.1

Pennsylvania eHealth Partnership Authority has been established to enable HIE in the state: http://www.paehealth.org/.  Several HIEs are up and running, including HealthShare Exchange (HSX); the Keystone HIE; the ClinicalConnect HIE; and the Southeast Pennsylvania HIO (SePHIMA).

APCD (if applicable) 

The Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4) is taking steps toward collecting an all-payer claims database. As called for in its reauthorizing legislation (PA Act 3 of 2009), PHC4 has reconstituted its Payment Data Advisory Group in an effort to move decisively and expeditiously forward on payment data collection, analysis and reporting.
